The launch of the "Back to School" campaign featured an array of exciting products: a new book highlighting "Sloth" and his first day of school, emphasizing the significance of routines. Accompanying the book were matching 'Kins, a card game, and a visual schedule for teachers to help students visualize daily sequences. The central theme underscoring the significance of routines was pivotal for this campaign. Typically considered neither "fun" nor exhilarating, the topic is crucial for students on their first day of school. Establishing routines is essential to minimize anxiety and foster confidence.

Collaborating with our lead copywriter, we crafted a campaign promoting the joy and friendliness of routines with slogans like "Put some Prep in your Step," "Rally for Routine," "3 Cheers for Routines," and "Back to Basics." As the lead designer, I spearheaded the development of cohesive branding, covering identity, color schemes, graphic elements, illustrations, typography lockups, and a custom hand-lettered font that complemented our book series. These design elements were seamlessly integrated into stickers, patches, and illustrated graphics utilized across campaign emails, landing pages, social media, and marketing inserts.

Slumberkins creates emotional learning tools for children through books and stuffed animal toys called 'kins. As lead designer for this project, I designed branding and packaging for their monthly subscription service, the Slumberkins Book Club. Each month, parents receive a curated collection of four books promoting emotional learning and growth around themes such as Self-Belief, Compassionate Growth, Mindful Routines, and Open Hearts. The service offers a fun and convenient way for families to bond and prioritize emotional well-being through reading together.

Drawing inspiration from playful bookshelf designs found in playrooms, the packaging concept incorporates patterns reminiscent of nursery murals. The logo, inspired by whimsically stacked books, complements the overall theme, creating an abstract scene when paired with the bookshelf and wallpaper motifs. Initially, the packaging for the book club subscription was intended to be a premium cardboard envelope but was changed to a box due to shipping concerns. Luckily, this gave us the opportunity to create an interior graphic to further develop the book club storytelling, and added  a touch of surprise and delight to the unboxing experience.

The Slumberkins Kinspiration Kit is a monthly subscription service crafted to nurture children's emotional well-being. Each box focuses on themes like Mindful Play, Social Play, and Expressive Play, aiming to instill confidence, self-expression, and social skills through immersive activities. The Kinspiration Kit, included in each subscription, brings stories to life with activities that cater to both adult-guided and self-directed play, fostering joy and developmental growth in children.

The project covered branding, packaging design, a box trifold insert detailing contents, and a small brand design system for creative elements. This holistic approach ensures that the Play Kit aligns seamlessly with the Slumberkins brand while highlighting the unique themes associated with each creature. The result is a cohesive and engaging experience that benefits both children and parents.
